As someone new to the studio, you will vary in how new you are to movement. So, you might pass through the green phase quite quickly, or you may be revolutionizing your lifestyle and you might stay a while.
On average, we recommend that you hit this phase with all the gusto you can manage for 12 weeks. This is the time it takes the general person who starts out in good physical condition to gain the strength to do one pull up. If you are not in good physical condition, please talk with one of our instructors about creating a plan that will best meet your desired goals. If you are already in top condition and have the strength to perform a pull up and perhaps invert in the air, we recommend you take at least a couple weeks of aerial yoga and our Whole Body Balance Workouts just to get oriented to working with aerial apparatuses.
When you have the ability to perform a pull-up from a dead hang to chin over the bar with an overhand grip, you are ready to begin our Skills Classes and move into the purple stage.
Important Note about the Green Stage: Don't think that just because you are here in the green stage means we won't be learning any skills! You will be picking up plenty of sling work in Aerial Yoga and the basics of mounting/dismounting each apparatus in our Whole Body Balance Workouts. By the time you get to skills class, you'll already know how to climb and work your way around each apparatus.
