As the name suggests, here at the Movement Exploratorium (MOMEX), we like to explore movement. We mainly do that through the use of aerial apparatuses, but other movement disciplines are incorporated into our work as well! It's a wonderful way to approach fitness in a non-traditional, and yet very sustainable way. You are not just going to get an awesome workout, you will learn and master a new skill set as well as have the opportunity to perform if you choose to do so.
Our studio is equipped with 15-18 feet of ceiling height. Our studios are packed with equipment, that way you will never have to share a rig with more than 2 people. That means you get to do a lot of moving and working! Additionally, our skills classes cap at 10 students - meaning you will get a ton of 1 on 1 attention from our amazing instructors. We pride ourselves in offering a curriculum that allows anyone to participate and enjoy movement in a new way, whether you are a recreational fitness enthusiast, or a person seeking to perform professionally one day! I love dance, but I'm not a dancer. I love to work out, but I am not big into fitness fads. I love yoga, but I'm not all that serious about it. I love Pilates, but I get bored and need to move further into space. I love the idea of ballroom dance, but can never quite find the right partner. At the end of the day, I have identified myself as a lifelong mover. I just need to get up everyday and rotate my shoulders, rotate my hips in their sockets, get in tune, get in touch, be present, and live mindfully. I invite you to the MOMEX to do the same. You might just find what I found: a connection to an apparatus that is the perfect partner. It is always there for you to lean on, stretch with, pull on, or give you a way to work with gravity so that you can finally work every muscle in your body without using weights or machines to do it. You may reach further into an act of self-expression and be inspired to perform! No matter what you choose to do with your movement, we are here to support you doing it.
